How do I know someone won’t take my book idea?
We often answer this question, with a question:
Have you told friends, family, acquaintances or strangers about your book idea?
|

 |
If yes, then your book idea is already out there and likely not protected. While we completely trust our friends and family, who is to say that an acquaintance or stranger won’t take our idea?
By registering with Your Book place and creating your book you have taken the first step toward securing it.
It’s similar to mailing yourself protected documents and leaving the envelop sealed. The date stamped envelop is your proof of when you conceptualized the idea, or wrote the documents.
Your book title, synopsis and creation date will be securely stored in our database. You now have a reference point similar to the sealed envelop.
Rest assured that your book is just as secure when accepting contributions from Your Book Place members as from friends as family. However, here are additional ways to ensure your peace of mind:
- Write your book yourself and only you will have visibility to it:
- Add your book title
- Add book details
- Add yourself as the only author
- Upload your book manuscript
- Order copies for yourself
Or...
- Only accept contributions from authors you trust
- Securely add friends or family as contributing authors
