About Your Book Place

Your Book Place LLC is an author collaboration web site. Your Book Place brings readers, writers and authors of all types and ages together to write, collaborate on, contribute to, print on demand and self-publish their book, novel or story.

Your Book Place offers an innovative automation process for authors to create or contribute to a book and manage every aspect of their book from creation to publication.  This includes a sophisticated workflow management system, which allows authors to review and approve contributed content, editing services, book cover design and self-publication with the opportunity to sell the book(s) through on online store and receive a return profit. 

Personal Information

"Personal Information" means information about Member (s) provided to Your Book Place in connection with registration on the Site; and/or Personal Information you place, post, or make on the Site about yourself. Personal Information may include but is not limited to any information that could be used to identify you. Your Book Place members can change, hide and reveal their profile information at any time. It is critical that your Personal Information is accurate. If your Personal Information changes, Member agrees to promptly update Personal Information on the Site. It is the Member responsibility to keep Personal Information current on the Site.

Member will have the opportunity to select a Member Pen Name and Password during the Member registration process. Member is solely responsible in all respects for maintaining the confidentiality and security of the Member Pen Name and Password. Member is solely responsible for the activity and Content that occurs under or is placed on the Site under the guise of the Member Pen Name. Member agrees to notify Your Book Place immediately of any unauthorized use of Member's Pen Name or Password.

Your Book Place may refuse to grant Member or require Member to change his/her Member Pen Name or Password if either impersonates someone else, is protected by trademark or other law, is vulgar or otherwise offensive, or for any other reason, at Your Book Place discretion.

Member agrees not to use Personal Information of other Members.

Information Collection and Use by Your Book Place

To create Content of Your Book Place (the "Site"), you must register as a member, which requires Your Book Place to collect user information such as name, email address, age to authenticate users and to send notifications to those users relating to Your Book Place. Your Book Place also logs non-personally-identifiable information including IP address, profile information, aggregate user data, and browser type, from users and visitors to (the "Site").  This data is used to manage Your Book Place (the "Site"), track usage and improve the (the "Site"), services. This non-personally-identifiable information may be shared with third parties to provide more relevant services and advertisements to members.

Your Book Place, offers our member (s) an opportunity to set up a profile which includes but not limited to, name, email address, age, address, pictures to facilitate member interaction within Your Book Place (the "Site").  Email addresses are used for the purposes of inviting members' friends' networks and to send email notifications related to Your Book Place that allows users to search for other members using first and last name, email address.

Age Appropriateness

Your Book Place cares about Age Appropriateness for the content of the book and will not allow children or adolescents to contribute to books that are not appropriate for them.

Your Book Place may also use a user’s email address to send updates, newsletters or news.   Users may choose not to receive emails of this type by changing their "notification" setting to "Do not send me notification emails" in the user "Profile Settings".

Users may be asked to provide personal information including name, email address or home address or to answer questions in order to participate. 

Invitations and Other Communications to Non-members

Set up your author (s) feature is used to invite author (s) to contribute to a book.  Each authors email address is created by the Editor in Chief member of Your Book Place and stored within Your Book Place Site.  The non-member author will receive an email invitation from the Editor in Chief and in order to contribute to the book, the non-member author must become a member of Your Book Place.  The email invitation will provide the details on how to register.  Your Book Place stores the email addresses that members provide so that the member may be added to the chalkboard that represents the author (s) position to write and to receive email notifications. 

The Site may contain links to third-party websites that are not owned or controlled by Your Book Place. Your Book Place has no control over, and assumes no responsibility for, the content, privacy policies, or practices of third-party websites. Your Book Place cannot edit the content of third-party websites.

Accordingly, Your Book Place encourages member to be aware when member leaves the Site to read the terms and conditions and privacy policy of each third-party website that member visits. 

Use of Cookies 

Your Book Place uses cookies to store visitors' preferences and to record session information, for purposes including ensuring that visitors are not repeatedly offered the same advertisements and to customize newsletter, advertising, and web page content based on browser type and user profile information. We do not link the information we store in cookies to any personally identifiable information you submit while on our site. You may be able to configure your browser to accept or reject all or some cookies, or notify you when a cookie is set -- each browser is different, so check the "Help" menu of your browser to learn how to change your cookie preferences -- however, you must enable cookies from Your Book Place in order to use most functions on the site. Your Book Place contains links to sites. Your Book Place is not responsible for the privacy policies and/or practices on other sites. When linking to another site a user should read the privacy policy stated on that site. Our privacy policy only governs information collected on Your Book Place.

Public Forums

Please be aware that whenever you voluntarily post public information to Public Forums that information can be accessed by the public and can in turn be used by those people to send you unsolicited communications.

If you use Your Book Place forums you should be aware that any personally identifiable information you submit there can be read, collected, or used by other users of these forums, and could be used to send you unsolicited messages. We are not responsible for the personally identifiable information you choose to submit in these forums.  

Correcting/Updating or Removing Information

Your Book Place member may modify or remove any of their personal information at any time by logging into their account and accessing the Edit Profile feature.  

Email Choice/Opt-out

Member (s) who no longer wish to receive updates or notifications may choose not to by selecting 'Do not send me notification emails' in the user profile 'Account Settings'. Members who do not wish to receive Your Book Place newsletters may choose not to by selecting 'Do not send me Your Book Place newsletters' in the user profile 'Account Settings'. All notification emails and Your Book Place newsletters also include the above instructions for opting-out of those communications in the future.

Third Party Advertising

Ads appearing on this Web site may be delivered to users by Your Book Place or one of our Web advertising partners. Our Web advertising partners may set cookies. These cookies allow the ad server to recognize your computer each time they send you an online advertisement. In this way, ad servers may compile information about you, or others who are using your computer, saw their advertisements and determine which ads are clicked on. Your Book Place member accounts are secured by member-created Pen names and passwords.  Your Book Place takes precautions to ensure that member account information is kept private. We use reasonable measures to protect member information that is stored within our database, and we restrict access to member information to those employees who need access to perform their job functions, such as our customer service personnel and technical staff. Please note that we cannot guarantee the security of member account information. Unauthorized entry or use, hardware or software failure, and other factors may compromise the security of member information at any time. 

In the Event of Merger, Sale, or Bankruptcy
In the event that Your Book Place is acquired by or merged with a third party entity, we reserve the right, in any of these circumstances, to transfer or assign the Personal Information we have collected from our users as part of such merger, acquisition, sale, or other change of control. In the unlikely event of bankruptcy, insolvency, reorganization, receivership, or assignment for the benefit of creditors, or the application of laws or equitable principles affecting creditors' rights generally, we may not be able to control how your Personal Information is treated, transferred, or used.
